FRONTIER LAUNCHES LOCAL SHOPPING GUIDES, THE OFFICIAL DIRECTORIES FOR CONNECTICUT
HARTFORD, CT (DECEMBER 1, 2014) – Frontier Communications [NASDAQ: FTR] and its publisher, The Berry Company, LLC announced today that they will release three local shopping guides for the entire state of Connecticut. Frontier recently completed its acquisition of AT&T Inc.’s wireline business, statewide fiber network, and U-verse operations in Connecticut, becoming the state’s newest local communications provider. In keeping with the company’s emphasis on being locally engaged, the official Frontier local shopping guides will more efficiently and effectively connect consumers to small businesses.
“Last year, consumers needed 19 directories to cover the entire state of Connecticut. We are pleased to announce the Frontier local shopping guide will cover the same area in just three directories,” said Ray Carulli, branch manager of The Berry Company in Connecticut. “Not only is this a more superior and effective product, but for advertisers, the books are up to 75 percent less expensive than the elaborate traditional directories.”
Carulli added, “These local shopping guides are unlike anything else in the market or elsewhere in the country. It is the only directory purpose-built for the 21st century consumer.”
The Shopping Guides feature a local “Best of” section, highlighting local favorites. The guides will also deliver a more a high-tech solution to Connecticut, offering SnapTag technology. SnapTags will be found throughout the book and are similar to QR codes but offer more features for both advertisers and consumers. Instead of simply taking consumers to a link, SnapTags open up a whole new line of interactive communication.
